Baseball 101

A group from the University of Missouri’s Asian Affairs Center went to a Royals baseball game in Kansas City on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Many had never seen a baseball game before.

Liu Haipeng, from Inner Mongolia, cheers after Royals player David DeJesus hit a walk-off home run in the 9th inning. Through a translator, Haipeng described his first baseball game, “I don’t [understand] the rules, but I still feel it’s very interesting.” The hat Haipeng is wearing was a free give-away at the ballpark.
